Avocado is a versatile and nutritious fruit renowned for its creamy texture and distinct buttery flavour. In fact, the literal translation for avocado in Burmese is butter fruit.
Avocados are used in a wide variety of cuisines, from being the main ingredient in guacamole, to serving as a flavourful addition to salads, sandwiches, and sushi.
In Burma, we ate avocado as a sweet treat. It was simply made with a ripe avocado, milk, a little condensed milk or sugar, resulting in a rich frothy drink.
